More and more problems.
First, the positives:
Fixed the Disappearing Ammo glitch
Fixed the Rebecca Teleportation Glitch
Started on New Save System (see annoying news below)
Uploaded Side-On Rebecca Sprite
Licker Sprite Completed
Leech Sprite Completed
And also thanks to FAPCOM for going the extra mile and making a better version of the bar background!
Here's the bad news:
1) Not sure if ANoob can continue working on the project (contact with me and him has been rare, if at all.)
2) Haven't spoken to Pen in a while, not sure if she's busy
3) My course starts soon, so updates will be less frequent.
And the annoying news (for me anyway)
Since the save system has been messing up so much recently for me and for others, I am re-doing it from the ground up, which has been... difficult to say the least.
And unfortunately, the way it's looking, I won't be able to add in loading the game from death, so it'll be more like the old Resident Evils, where death takes you to title screen. I won't make it automatic though.

So both ANoob and Pen are out of the development team for this game? How long has it been since you talked to them?
ReplyDeletePersonally the voice overs sounded to me like they were more akin to a test run than anything else. I got the impression that the lines were just read off the script, not trying to put any 'oomph' into it as the real deal would be done later. It did sound like an attempt to get into character was made, although that could just be the natural voice as nobody knows how anyone really sounds over the internet. :P Voted Alright, as it, as well as this whole game, is a work in progress and naturally has room for improvement. I can understand voting bad if you are one anal critic about voice over perfection, but nowhere near screaming about the pain in your ears bad.
ReplyDeleteIn the off-chance that this was a give-it-your-all effort and intended on being the final voice over (which seems unlikely from what I've read here and elsewhere) then this will probably make me sound like an ass...well I guess I'll be an ass then. Now, enough of that. Time to go terrorize the local wildlife!
Well thank you for that and yes, i was just reading most of it normal through a script, i tryed with some of em but yeah, im redoing the voiceing later and going to make it as perfect as i can with my mic and my voice :D
ReplyDeleteVoice Acting's a nice touch, and with some refining and practice will be alright, "MORE" were you meant to blow into the mic or did you not 'move away from the mic to breathe' seriously though keep up the good work guys

ReplyDeleteSome of the people who voted "Oh god my ears!" might have also been trolling too. Personally, I liked the voicing bit. Adds more character in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteBesides the sound quality, I feel it would flow better if the sound clips were one continuous file for a whole grapple instead of several separate clips. You could do several different arrangements for each one with some other dialogue choices.
ReplyDeleteI also noticed that sometimes the wrong sound clip played for the text displayed during a grapple. Finally is there anyways to speed up the text during a load game 'mark the return of Umbrella'? The door opening animation also seems to go somewhat slowly.

ReplyDeleteIt's impossible to have it as one single sound file, due to things such as escaping and the scream when the first bar runs out.
I haven't had this "wrong sound clip" problem.
As for speeding up the loading text and the door animations... no. Those things are what add to the Resident Evil feel.
The bug happened most frequently after death and then submitting. Also as far as skills go if you're still taking suggestions, something that increases stamina and resistance pools(Endurance?), a skill that makes it easier to break out of grapples(each arrow press fills more of the bar(Martial arts training), knife skill to do more stab damage, and dodge.
ReplyDeleteWell, I already thought ahead with that, and if you check out the skills menu (go into inventory then to skills up top) you can see all the ones that are going to be in there.

ReplyDeleteWell I got in contact with Pen two days ago, so she's not off the team, just not working on this currently.
ReplyDeleteANoob I have completely lost contact with. His internet is down 99.99% of the time and I sent him a PM on the LoK forums, which I haven't received a reply for. If his internet comes back up and stuff, then he can work on things such as item sprites or game over pics. I'm not forcing him off the team, but obviously if he completely disappears there isn't much I can do.
