Status Update

Hey guys,

Again, sorry for the silence (I really don't check back here enough.)

You'll be pleased to know me and FAPCOM are working full steam ahead with getting this update ready. The main focus for me now is getting the laned version ready. This includes:

- Removing that lag that was created whenever a zombie was present
- Optimizing the use of lanes and obstacles
- Creating the first couple of areas (Probably going to be basic versions of them)
- Anything extra I want to add in before release

Unlike FAPCOM's version (that was put up as a small test on the LoK forums), my version will have unlimited lanes (and each one will be a smaller width, giving more freedom of movement.



The update will be ready Mid-Late November.

    1. Nice to meet you. Don't worry about donations, while it's nice that people care that much about this project, that doesn't make anybody who doesn't donate worse.

  2. hello first id like to say it's nice to see your still working on this project. i personaly love the animations in the game and it's theme. I would like to suggest that there should be more than just zombies and what i mean by this is umbrella corp workers or mutated workers somthing to this nature but hey thats my opinion you do what ever you want. Keep up the good work Z.

    1. That's an interesting thought. I didn't think about many other normal zombies or human enemies. (Mainly because I didn't want it to go down the route of 4 onwards.) I could always add them in at cutscenes.

    1. I didn't have any plans to include a horse into the game. If a point comes where I may be able to, I'll cast a vote and see the outcome.

  5. Ha, I though this project was dead. Hopefully I can get some satisfaction from the new update. Oh and even though your progress in the development of the game is slow, you deserve every and all donations you've obtain so far. why? Because your making a damn parody of my favorite franchise. Later fool.

    1. Our slow progress isn't always our fault. Life always has a way of stopping us, and this is a hobby. I'd rather focus on my career than this.

      It's a shame people aren't as keen with the RE franchise, it has some great characters (and guess which one's my favourite) Don't like the whole action-horror route they've gone for though.

  7. Oh, god. What year is it? I totally blocked this project out for months... but glad that it's alive and kicking! You guys are really awesome to put effort into this for such a long time! It's really been a long road, here's hoping for the project's progress.

    1. Yeah, it's been a long road, it's starting to look better, and play more like an RE game though, instead of a bad platformer based on the RE universe.

      I'm suprised I didn't think about going for the Streets of rage approach before, since it gives it that whole new level.

  9. i am a willing donator, just need some help. when i play the demo there are only 2 zombies and one platform, is that it? is there no other version with more data?

    1. The latest release had only one tileset available (my bad), so ZFied released it as mainly a "Mercenaries Mode"-only demo which you'll need to unlock in the bonus section.

      In that version, the lane system and obstacle interaction hadn't been optimized yet. This was because he was attempting to migrate from a sidescrolling platformer to a version in which dodging enemies would require planning your route more effectively and not simply jumping past everything.

      On the downside, this meant that he hadn't the time to tackle some bugs. There was a huge memory leak and a bug with the attack/sex ratio slider.

      In this version he's hoping to release a few more environments and develop story mode a little, since a lot of tiles, props and doors have been created since the last update.

      There's no obligation to donate; you can if you like, and ZFied appreciates it. Hopefully once the bugs have been ironed out and our real lives settle down a bit (quite a chaotic and turbulent time we're living in right now!), the game will flesh out as we add more updates.

    5. Hey there, I'm assuming you mean the developing software? If so a couple I know are:

      Unholy Sanctuary (I think anyway)
      Another Dimension

      If you're a fan of NanoCrisis, you should also check out Hounds of the Blade by the same developer.
