It really annoys me that we put in so much work for so little result, but I'm going to put forward the question, would you like the update released in this week, or wait until the new area is ready? Let me know in the comments.
The current update stands at bug fixes for the last version, the merchant screen (which ate away hours with stupid bugs.) and the laboratory (which should keep you guys going for a bit...)

P.S. Here's a little skill tree idea that FAPCOM came up with (obviously the look will change). To explain, as you know throughout the game you get innocent and whore experience. The 'hearts' cost you whore points, and the wings/halo cost you innocent points. The ones that are half heart-half wing gives you the choice of either going down the whore route, or the innocent route (and blocks off the other route.)
Obviously, I don't want to make this game too RPG-esque, but I really like this idea and I feel it wouldn't take away from the experience at all. Again, lemme know in the comments.
Personally I don't mind waiting until the next area is complete, that way there will be a lot of content in that release. However I don't know if others are as patient as me. I'm sure there are a few eager for any update :P

Yeah I planned to have unlockable abilities as you went down one of the routes (For example, the submitting thing is going to be an ability for the whore route, as well as the riding zombies thing. There are a couple more, but no spoilers)

If there's no reason you can't just do 2 updates 1 now, and one later with the new area then I see no reason not to do that. Give people some time to mess around with the merchant, new animations, and gallery, and then while they'll have something to while away the time until your new area is done. Seems like the most logical thing to me.

About the latest released versions (1st January 2013) was very well done.
It 's the first time I try an hentai game for both: hentai animations and finish the game.
I like the level of difficulty, often hentai games are so difficult that people will not even charge them but load savegame made by others.
A game should be a relaxing activity, and must point about the story (of course without writing too much, or people will jump dialogues).
Good work and I hope soon in an update :).
Yeah, the main thing I'm avoiding with this game is farming, and if anything, trying to make it a natural progression (Of course, you will still be picking the skills). Playing the game as a neutral character is probably the closest thing I could put to being just the standard survival horror.

I'm interested to see how people will deal with savegames, since it's not a typical linear game. I still have a lot more planned for this game, it has unfortunately moved slowly up to this point.

DeleteThe last release felt like the demo of a professional game. If you continue adding more before the next release, people will enjoy exploring the new area. Releasing it now would just leave people nagging for a new release once they have gotten bored with the minor changes.
ReplyDeleteFan service, such as releases, may be important, but it is not even close to being as important as YOU being comfortable with the game you release.
Personally, just having an update on your blog should be enough to satisfy people. Hearing that you are still working on the game, and that fapcom is back to working on it, is more than some other creaters do on their blogs. And fapcom's "hiatus" isn't that out of the ordinary. It happens more often than you may think.
Trust me, I make games for a living (I do environments). There are some times when I have called fellow members of my team because NOBODY has heard from them in a while (I still think our programmer is dead), and, unlike you guys, we have deadlines.

DeleteI just found this game - nice work by the way. I'm sort of confused by the grapple system. Sometimes they attack me, sometimes they fuck me, and I can't figure out why a given enemy does one or the other, or how I can influence the decision. Can you explain?
ReplyDeleteIt's currently a randomised system, based on your settings in the options. Setting the slider all the way to 'SEXUAL' will give them a 90/10 chance of sexual attack, and vice versa for the other side. There is also a cheat in the extras to make it only sexual attacks.
DeleteDon't forget to save the changes you make in options, otherwise it doesn't keep them.

Unless it's like 2 animations and 5 minutes, in which case you'd do better to wait until you had more stuff to release.
Essentially, you can't produce enough content to make people feel "OH, this wait was worth it!" either way, at this point, but if you release 2 minute's worth of stuff after a wait this long, it's gonna be a slap in the face.
Yeah, there's not going to be enough content to make people feel like the wait was justified (Unless I just released the whole game haha). Hoping it's not a slap in the face!
DeleteThat's kind of a good point; like most fans of H-games, I spend a lot of time floating around in limbo, wondering if my favorite games are ever going to see completion. Don't be discouraged at the slow pace of development, but keep posting updates and release new versions as they're ready. People will follow a project for a suprisingly long time, even without new content being released--as long as they get updates on what's going on behind the scenes.

Personally, if a game gives me the opportunity to whore out my character, I leap at it. Shooting zombies is great, but that is NOT why I play an H-game. The only problem I have with the current setup of the game is that it gives you the option to do so, but discourages it.
ReplyDeleteIt does this by giving you virus, aka very slow death. Sure there are perks that allow you to slow it, but that's exactly it. It only slows, never stops. In fact, even with all the herbs in the game, I have never been able to afford one.
Now I can see where you're going with it, and I like it. If a bite can infect you, so should semen. Makes sense. The only problem is that sex scenes are what we're all here for. If we wanted a zombie shooter, we'd just go buy one of the hundreds that are out there. We want sex, and we want it bad. So without any further ranting I offer you my two bits of advice.
Condoms. Pretty "Doh!" when you think about it. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised they're not already in there. After all, this is a sex game with one of the occupations the player can choose from is the prostitute. Now the players who want to choose the whore path can do so with ease.
Anyone else have an opinion on this?
The thing to note here is that the game so far isn't really finished. There was a period of time where one of the updates had a hentai magazine, and you could use it to reduce the virus to 0 (I think in fact if you got it to zero it wouldn't go back up unless got screwed) So there's no way to be sure that there isn't a way to get rid of the virus.
DeleteAlso, this is basically what the gallery is for. The main purpose of this game (it being a RoR game) is to make it to the end of the game without consuming to the mind break virus and becoming a cumbucket for zombies. The rewards for doing so are naturally the ability to see every single sex scene in the game.
Personally, if the sex part was all your interested in, I'd suggest just waiting for the game to be completed and then hope that there's an easy way to unlock the gallery so you can fap to your hearts content with that alone. Me, I'll have fun with all aspects of the game.

DeleteThey aren't JUST for the gallery, what I meant was that that would be where you could see ALL the sex scenes, without that tedious little thing known as "playing the game". What I was saying is that if the sex part is the only part your interested, wait for the gallery to be available and easily accessible and ignore the rest of the game. This is a Run or Rape game after all, and I'm fairly certain that at some point the character would get raped by something, the only question being would the person playing the character want to avoid it as much as possible (going for the whole innocent path) or get it on immediately (going down the whore path)
Which reminds me Z-Fied, there definitively needs to be a way to, at the very least for non-bosses, to "screw the monster to death" or at least exhaustion.
But really, if the sex angle is the ONLY reason your here, ignore the game pretty much till its done and stick to the gallery when it first becomes available.
Although im agree with you about everything killing a monster with sex is way stupid! exhaustion in other hands seems hot!

Well it's obviously just foolishness to have a sex game where you're only trying to avoid the sex, but I fully expect that there'll be items (like the condoms you suggested) and various perks to the whore path that make the whore path less suicidal.
DeleteUmmm...That's what several games out there feature. It's called "RUN OR RAPE" for a freaking reason you know! Perhaps when more than one chapter is available for play in the game, the idea could be that after each chapter, the gallery unlocks the scenes for the enemies in that chapter/area.
DeleteFor the record, it should be noted that it's more a case of your TRYING to avoid the zombies. I'm sure some of them will manage to get some lucky hits in that will allow you to get your precious scenes.

DeleteThere will be ways to consensually give yourself into humans, as well as other scenes, but the plot revolves around a virus which turns people into zombies, and your character is on a mission to stop that (while she may take detours... LOTS of detours :P) It's still at an early stage of development, so these ideas just haven't come out.

Yes, the whore path isn't meant to be suicidal, and I don't want to make it so you avoid sex (since it is a H-Game) but it would be plot-breaking if I made it so there were no consequence for having sex with zombies.
