Not an April Fools Status Update

So I could've been really cheap and posted an 'update' up here as a fun little prank, but frankly, that'd just be wasting time.

The Lab is coming along great, I think you guys are going to love it. Check the picture below for a small preview. The background is the 'Holding Cell' by fan InsaneBrain. You can customise the lighting, music, and little visual effects like the camera effect you can see in the picture.

I'm really excited to get this one out to you all, I know you've been patient. I need to finish up this extra, and then finish off the merchant buying screen (since I've run into a large number of bugs with it), and then I'll be releasing!

      A suggestion to make, it might not be a bad idea to stop by say Sprite INC's forums or The Spriters Resource forums and see if anyone there is interested in picking up where FAPCOM left, if your needing a good spriter to do so.

      or you could try the LoK forums, see if someone there is a good spriter.

      Of course, there's always the secondary option if things can't end up moving forward...

      Yeah, but you can't exactly go onto normal spriting forums and say "So I have this H-Game..." I'll give it a go though.

      I doubt LoK forums have anyone on there, people are used to Flash and RPGMaker (ugh, RPGMaker...)

      I've kept this project going for far too long to quit now. I'd just be letting myself down.

      Go in there and say your looking for someone good with sprites for a very...specific genre of games, and then post the SFW sprites up.

      Then when you've got people wanting know what it is, tell them what it is.

      You might be surprised. I think the guy working on Emmerzail has some sprite skills, as some of the mugshots for his game are edits he's done, or so he told me.

      As I said, if it really came down to it, switching over to flash is an option. May not be a preferred option, but if quitting the project is the greater of two evils...

      As I said, regarding option 2, take a look at UrielmanX7's Space Escape, I think its a good base to gauge how this game would be in flash. The lane system would possibly be the ONLY thing that might have to get slashed, but I don't know enough about flash to be certain about that. I'd ask some of the veterans in the Flash section to be sure.

      Another little part. It took a very long time to produce the animations we have now, so the other ones won't be for some time. Originally, I didn't even plan on releasing this mode until after the game was finished (since this is meant to be an unlockable after finishing.) The update with this in will only be a taster of the full thing.

    Hi. Big fan here, following the game since 2011. It's nice to see things are coming along. Although, maybe you should start thinking about getting a substitute for Fapcom, at least till he stops being AWOL... just saying.

    Don't wanna sound like a douche, but maybe you should consider this, if the guy's too busy with his surely more important things. Otherwise, who knows when you'll be able to make a release.

    Anyway, great game, you guys. Keep the great work.

    PS: I'm really hoping to hear new clips from Catgirl. How's that going?

      Sound advice with respect to Fapcom.

      If he's gone more than 3 months without making contact of any kind whatsoever, even to excuse the slowass pace of production, then who knows if he's even still interested in working on the thing?

      Ah well, the trials and tribulations of relying on someone else. What can ya do. *shrugs*

      I know, he's been gone a long time. I worry for him to be honest. Knowing him, he rated this project quite highly, which is why I haven't really expected him to just up and leave.

      I'm currently speaking to a guy who has done a tiny bit of animation with that sex MUGEN. We'll see where it goes, but I am starting to look for others to take FAPCOMs place.

      I'm going to start drawing out the maps for the next areas, and maybe make the framework of them in game (so the spriter only needs to follow the room dimensions for each area.)

      Also, Catgirl has already stated she will not be voicing Rebecca anymore.

      Your not the only one worried about him. Its certainly possible something might have happened to him. You wouldn't happen to know of any of his friends or family would you? Then you'd be able to find out if something's happened or if he's just busy.

      Of course you are, your opinion is as valid as any!

      The Laboratory is very customisable, what I've shown in the image is one background, with one lighting option, with one visual effect. I'm sure you'll find something to your taste in there!

    Patience...Bhah.
    Instead of preaching about patience being virtue and all that bs, I'll give you a quick note as to how to approach the updating speeds on this, aswell as pretty much any other projects, I'll use months. <---read that line.
    1-5; SLOW AS FUCK
    5-7; Most projects get a lot done during this time. aka summertime
    7-9; projects slow down significantly during these months
    9-11; Projects are on slow pace
    11-1; Most projects slow down to a crawl/no updates. Some do however make Xmas updates.

      Whoa, let's not start a small war here in the comments.

      He has a point, most projects do slow down for a majority of the year. There are reasons to why it all slows down though.

      It's why I'm grateful that people are so patient and so supportive.
